“Between Mind and Emotion”

This painting was born from a daily tension I live with, the tension between the mind that seeks order, logic, and clear answers, and the emotion that asks for truth, experience, and presence. It is a delicate space where both voices exist at the same time, sometimes in cooperation and sometimes in conflict. The mind wants to know where things are going, what is right, what the next step should be, while the emotion asks to pause, to feel, to agree to be with what is, even when it has no clear definition.

During the painting process, emotion led the hand, while the mind kept trying to step in. There were moments of confidence, when the colors flowed naturally, and moments of doubt, of stopping, of wanting to fix or control the outcome. It was precisely there that something opened. Instead of choosing who leads, a dialogue emerged. Layers upon layers, movement alongside stillness, colors meeting without permission. This is not a painting of decision, but of listening. Listening to the place where the mind can soften, and the emotion can feel safe enough to fully appear.

Between mind and emotion is a space where deep release becomes possible. Not through understanding, but through consent. Consent to not know everything, to not control every detail, to not demand of myself to be something else. It is the place where something inside me settles when I stop trying. A place where an honest connection forms between what I think and what I feel.

This painting is an invitation to stay for a moment in that space, not to rush out of it, and to discover that within it there is freedom, depth, and a quiet truth that needs no explanation.
