The Story Behind the Painting
There are moments when something inside us asks to move anew, something that comes not from the head, but directly from the heart. This artwork was born out of such a moment.
Our mind is full of stories. It tells us our fears, what we should or should not be, and constantly reminds us of old patterns we have learned. Yet alongside it, quiet and deep, exists another whisper: the story of the soul, the story of true desire, of alignment, of freedom, and of connecting to what truly leads our lives.
The difference between listening to the mind's stories and listening to the soul's stories is dramatic. The mind manages us out of survival and defense, while the soul reminds us of what truly serves us, what builds a life that benefits us, our power, and our inner peace. To truly awaken is a matter of inner awareness; to awaken is to recognize both voices within, to agree to let go of the story the mind tries to sell us, and to choose the story of the soul.
During the work on the canvas, my movement reflected this, layer upon layer of paint and texture, some turbulent like the thoughts in our minds, and others suddenly revealed in all their depth and quiet, like the soul asking for space. The physical process of revealing and uncovering the texture on the canvas was truly a practice in awareness.
When looking at this piece in your space, it is not merely a visual element of color and beauty; it is presence itself. It stands as a powerful daily reminder of the question: What are you awake to in this moment? Are you managed by the stories and noise inside your head, or are you choosing to listen to your soul's story and walk the path that truly serves you?
