“Expanding the Vessel”

Once when something I was waiting for didn't arrive I was sure that something was wrong. Maybe I didn't deserve it maybe I had lost my way or perhaps life was simply telling me "no."

It took me time and mostly moments of frustration and waiting to understand the deepest truth.

Sometimes the best things we ask for do not arrive simply because our inner vessel is still too small to contain them.

They are not being withheld from us life is just waiting for us to expand our vessel.

I realized that waiting is not lost time it is time for preparation. When we want a great love abundance creativity or change we need to have room to contain and hold all this goodness without it spilling over or frightening us.

This painting was born out of the consent to stop fighting closed doors and instead look inward and begin to enlarge the vessel. The moment I have room everything will come to me.

There is a movement of stretching flexibility and clearing space on this canvas.

I learned that expanding the vessel does not happen out of effort or war but rather out of breathing and consenting to release old beliefs fears and limitations that protected me in the past and today only delay me.

Every layer of color I placed in this painting was like another inner wall I agreed to move.

Another surrender of the need to control everything and another space opening wide within me.

During the work I felt how sometimes our heart wants to shrink back into the familiar and safe and how much courage is required to keep it open and exposed.

This painting is a reminder and an invitation to understand to stop worrying about the pace of life.

To let go and take a deep breath and know that everything happens at the right time and when we are truly ready everything will come all the way to us. ♡
