“Personal Space”

This painting was created from the understanding that personal space is not just a physical place, but also an emotional and communicative realm that allows deep listening. During the painting process, I wanted to highlight how personal space also manifests in interactions with others. For example, when I speak with someone, I learn to listen fully, giving them the time and space to express themselves, without interrupting or imposing my own opinions. It is a space where I do not encroach on the other’s private domain, but rather allow them to be whole and present.

This personal space is also reflected in everyday situations, such as when I listen to a friend’s story to the end, without rushing to offer solutions, but instead providing genuine, unintrusive listening.

The painting reflects the understanding that personal space is not merely about privacy, but also about mutual respect, compassionate listening, and the acceptance of both the other and the self. It is a space where genuine connections between people are formed.
