The Story Behind the Painting
Beyond the View -This painting is a movement of moments, dots of color that met perhaps by chance or perhaps because something inside knew exactly how they needed to come together. Each dot is a thought, a feeling, a memory, or a dream, and each one looks different from a different angle. When I get closer I discover small worlds, delicate connections between layers, drops that have drawn toward each other, textures born from layers of time and movement. When I step back all of this scattering organizes into harmony, like a melody that falls into place the moment it finds its rhythm.
Not everything we see is everything that exists. There are white spaces that may seem like emptiness but are in fact the breath of the painting, the space that allows the colors to speak to each other and form a relationship. This painting reminds me that to truly see, sometimes I need to change my view, take a step back or to the side, and ask myself what else can be seen here that I did not notice before, and how a small shift in angle can change the entire story.
The drips, stains, and spaces were born from real freedom, letting go of the need to control and allowing my hand, time, and gravity to do their work. This is the place where chance and intention meet, where movement and pause live together. Every dot here was given the space to be exactly what it is, without shrinking or changing itself to fit, and from this the whole was created.
For me, this painting is a reminder, and for anyone who looks at it, that life can look completely different when we allow ourselves to see it from a new angle. And when we return to look again, we always find another story, simply because we are no longer exactly the same as we were the first time.
