The Story Behind the Painting
When I began painting this piece, I was not thinking about the sky. I was not looking for a specific direction or image — I simply wanted to feel. But slowly, within the movement, within the textures, something happened. Something opened. The feeling was of air, of freedom. As if something within me suddenly remembered that there is no real ceiling, that what seems like an ending is actually a beginning.
The colors scattered like birds — unorganized, uncontrolled, simply moving in a natural, almost childlike way. I felt my hands let go of logic, the brush no longer trying to “paint beautifully,” but simply to be in motion. This movement belongs to dreams — dreams that are willing to be born without knowing exactly where they will go. And when they are born this way, they always travel farther.
"Edge of the Sky" is not a place, it is a state of mind. A moment when we stop settling for what is directly in front of us and allow ourselves to imagine beyond. Not out of lack, not out of escape, but from a connection to what already exists within us yet longs to spread its wings.
This work is a reminder — to me and to anyone who looks at it — that we all have wings. The question is not whether they exist, but whether we remember to use them.
