The Story Behind the Painting
The painting “Steps” was born from a reflection on the inner journey—a journey where each stage is a new ascent, a step beyond a challenge, a movement toward something greater. I remember the moment I sat in front of the canvas, filled with a sense of personal growth and the challenges I had overcome in recent years. I knew I wanted to express this feeling of continuous progression, of upward motion—not in a literal or physical way, but through color, shapes, and lines.
My first brushstrokes resembled stairs—ascending lines one after another, layers of paint built gradually, one on top of the other.
Each layer felt like a new stage in life. Every “step” brought new insights, inner strength, and also new difficulties to move through. During the creative process, I felt like I was getting closer to something—like climbing a mountain where, with every step, a wider view unfolds. I tried to express that feeling through the use of geometric shapes emerging from the background—like stones on the path or meaningful stops along the way.
This painting isn’t just about physical ascent, but about emotional and spiritual growth. It represents the desire to move forward and rise up, even when it feels hard. Each phase in this journey brings something new to light. And even though the climb may be challenging, the goal is to keep going—to keep rising through the steps of life.
