"Remnants of moments"  - Original painting by Shirly Maimon

The Story Behind the Painting

Life is filled with fleeting moments—some remain vivid in our memory, while others fade quietly, like layers of color blending into one another. Some experiences are sharp and tangible, almost within reach, while others linger as subtle traces, like lines drawn and erased, like words once spoken but now without sound.

This painting was born from an exploration of those moments—the fragments that stay with us, shaping us even when we don’t realize it. It is built from layers that tell an incomplete yet living story. Each color represents a feeling, each movement echoes a memory that lingers in the background—unclear, yet undeniably present.

There is a delicate balance between clarity and blur, between sharpness and softness. Some areas feel like a blank canvas, waiting for something new to emerge, while others are dense with stories of what once was, perhaps now fading. Like life itself, the painting is composed of unfinished gestures, of thoughts written and erased, of the way every moment leaves behind its own quiet imprint.

The painting invites the viewer to look deeper, to recognize the moments that refuse to be forgotten—those that do not fade with time but instead become a part of us, forever imprinted within.
