"Depth of Motion" - Original painting by Shirly Maimon
The Story Behind the Painting
Here is the English translation of the story:
This piece was born out of listening to the inner space that asks to take deep roots within the routine of life. Reality often brings with it a fast pace, constant movement, and changes that shake our internal sense, but beneath all of these lies a layer of true stability that remains untouched by the noise outside.
I chose the earthy tones of warm mustard, deep gray, subtle burgundy, and white, which meet through rich textures and dense layers. The gray and burgundy tones impart depth and inner weight, reminding us of the experience and resilience we have gathered along the way. In contrast, the warm mustard and white bring forth the light.
While working on the canvas, every application of texture and color was a practice in presence. The physical work with the layers was not meant to cover or conceal, but to reveal the strength of the journey, the unique texture of the soul, and the beauty found precisely in those places where we agree to remain with confidence and calm.
This artwork invites you to pause, let go of the rush, and find the stable, safe space within yourself.
It serves as a daily reminder that when we agree to lean on our inner roots, life fills with peace and security ♡
