The Story Behind the Painting
In this painting, the blue emerges like a spring, spreading downward and touching layers of white, gray, and gold. It carries the quality of water — something alive that continues to flow even when I pause to look. This flow reminds me of the way emotion arises within me — sometimes powerful, sometimes gentle — yet always seeking to move, to breathe, to be given space.
The lines that extend from the strong blue are not orderly or predictable. They cross one another, unravel, and reunite. They are like emotions — not linear, not always understood, but filled with truth. As I look at them, I realize there is no need to control every movement or stop the current. On the contrary, it is through allowing emotion to flow freely that its depth is revealed.
This painting reminds me that every feeling is a doorway. Even when I feel overwhelmed, even when confusion or turmoil rise — if I stay with the emotion, if I truly listen — it transforms from a crashing wave into a gentle stream that guides me inward. There, beneath the surface, I find softness, relief, and a new sense of clarity.
