"Deep breath" Original painting by the artist Shirly Maimon.
The inspiration for "Deep Breath" came from a quiet yet powerful moment —
a moment when everything around me felt fast, noisy, and overwhelming.
And in the middle of it all, I felt a single, clear need: to pause.
To take a deep breath.
Not to keep going — but to return to myself.
That breath wasn’t just physical — it was a shift inward.
A subtle movement that opened up a small space inside me,
right behind all the noise.
A space that whispered: here, you can rest.
Here, you’re allowed to let go.
When I sat in front of the canvas, I tried to bring that feeling to life through color and movement.
The soft tones — blue, white, gentle green — weren’t chosen for aesthetics alone.
They carried the softness, the clarity, the freshness of air moving through and clearing everything out.
My brushstrokes were slow, round, almost meditative.
Each layer felt like an exhale — a release of another thought, another tension,
another thing I no longer needed to hold onto.
"Deep Breath" isn’t just a painting — it’s a reminder.
A gentle invitation to pause, even for a moment.
To come home to ourselves.
To heal.
And it all begins — with a single breath.
