"Chaos"- Original painting by the artist Shirly Maimon.
There are moments when everything I feel becomes tangled—not because something is “wrong,” but simply because I’m alive.
Thoughts move too fast, emotions don’t line up neatly, and the more I try to create order, the louder the noise becomes inside.
This painting began without a plan—perhaps even out of exhaustion from needing a plan.
Just an impulse to place color, draw a line, give space to whatever was present—even if it wasn’t clear, logical, or precise.
This isn’t a painting that tries to impress.
It doesn’t offer a solution.
But it does say something important:
That even within chaos—there is vitality.
That what seems messy, scattered, or directionless still holds energy. It holds truth.
While creating it, I realized I don’t need to “figure myself out” in order to create.
I only need to allow myself to feel. To show up.
The chaos became a blotch, the blotch became movement, and the movement became a language.
To me, “Chaos” is not noise—it’s a dance.
Not a loss of control—but release.
It’s a reminder that disorder isn’t an ending—it’s a beginning.
That when I stop trying to hold everything together—something inside me opens.
